The first burn sets every burn after it
A candle remembers. If the wax doesn't melt to the edge the first time, it tunnels. Scroll to light it.
Let it reach the edge
The melted pool should spread all the way to the side of the jar before you put it out. Watch it widen as you read.
How long, for yours?
A common rule: about one hour for each inch of width. Each candle's own label wins.
Before the next one
Trim the wick to about a quarter inch once it has cooled. Keep it away from drafts, and never leave it burning in an empty room.
