Yami Bakura, known as Dark Bakura in the Japanese version, is the evil spirit of the Millenium Ring, and the main antagonist of the original Yu-Gi-Oh Series.
Yami Bakura first appears in the series when he is introduced as the owner of the Millennium Ring, one of the seven powerful artifacts in the series. The Millennium Ring is said to have immense power and whoever possesses it is capable of controlling the dead. Yami Bakura is revealed to have a personal vendetta against Yugi's friends and is determined to obtain all of the Millennium Items to achieve his goals. As the show progresses, Yami Bakura's character becomes more complex, as he is revealed to have his own agenda and motivations. He is not simply a one-dimensional villain but a layered character with a tragic backstory. Yami Bakura's backstory involves him being possessed by an evil spirit, which ultimately leads to his malevolent behavior.
