The Original Royals Longline Knit Top honors the rich history and symbolism of the Basotho blankets, specifically referencing the Badges of the Brave Blanket. During WWII, twenty thousand soldiers from Lesotho fought alongside British armed forces, and as a tribute to their valor, they created a blanket incorporating the emblems of each regiment they fought in. This design recognizes the valor of others, encapsulating the essence of what it means to be an "Original Royal." The emblems from this historic moment are emblazoned on the top, connecting the wearer to a legacy of courage and unity. Each new piece in this collection tells a story steeped in history, celebrating the shared values and experiences that shape us all. A portion of proceeds from this collection will be donated to Sentebale, continuing the ethos of “Kobo ke bophelo” [Trans. The blanket is life].
