The La Vida Knit Crop Onyx reflects Carlos Luna’s exploration of life and death, embodied in his artwork and belief systems. The design features “LA VIDA” (Spanish for Life) on the chest and “LA MUERTE” (Spanish for Death) on the back, with an inversion of La Muerte as “ETREUM AL,” symbolizing the cyclical nature of existence. This layered message represents two key ideas: (i) that life and death are intertwined, and (ii) that life moves forward through time, while death calls to us from the “other side.” This design invites reflection on the relationship between these forces, urging the wearer to consider the continuous cycle of life.
